Troubleshooting
Why a change got no pull request, why a PR is a draft, and what to do when Teire stops. Each answer names the place where Teire already says so.
Teire writes down why it did or didn't act. Check these first: the Teire Dashboard issue, the repository page in the dashboard, the run page linked from every PR and reply, and @teire explain.
Why is there no pull request?
Why is my PR a draft?
The first line of the PR says which case it is.
| Draft reason | What happened | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| typecheck only | A typecheck or build passed on both sides, but no tests were counted | Add tests, or set verify[].test |
| checks already failing | The checks failed on your base too, and the change made nothing worse | Fix the base; @teire rebase re-verifies |
| needs live access | A check tried the network, which is off during checks. The denied hosts are listed | Mock the calls in tests, or review by hand |
| needs a local service | A test reached for PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ or Memcached on localhost | Review by hand. Ruby projects get the services their CI declares |
| environment differs | Your lockfile does not install in the sandbox, for example a Node engine or native binary mismatch | Set verify[].install, or review by hand |
Teire stopped updating this branch
Teire resets a teire/… branch only when every commit on it is its own. If someone else pushed to it, the run stops and says so on the PR. Your commits are never overwritten. To have Teire start over, delete the branch, which closes the PR, then comment @teire recreate on that PR. Or finish the PR yourself.
A run says "interrupted"
A run that stops sending its heartbeat for 10 minutes, for example because the worker restarted, is marked interrupted. Comment @teire recreate on its PR, or @teire fix <package>, to run it again.
The "Teire config" check failed
The check lists each problem in teire.yml at its line. Those keys use their defaults, and everything else still works. See Configuration.
Private registries
Teire finds the registries your repositories install from, and reads them with a credential an admin saves once. The secret is sealed for Teire's worker and never reaches your code.
Compared with Dependabot and Renovate
Dependabot and Renovate open the version bump and leave the breakage to you. Teire also covers API and model changes, fixes the code they break, and proves it before it asks for a review.
